5 Quick Tips for Attracting Followers from Social Media and Turning them Into Customers for Your Business

It’s no surprise how big social media has become in society today. And since it’s huge, it’s one of the best and most widely used resources by many online marketers to use for driving referral traffic to their blogs or websites in the hopes of turning them into customers or team members.

At the top of the best places to get referral traffic will be, of course, Facebook then followed by Youtube, Pinterest, Twitter, Google Plus, and LinkedIn. Because of that, you as an online marketer cannot afford to overlook all or most of these resources and it will benefit you to start branching out and becoming proficient in using these different platforms to grow your online business or getting followers to your blog.

Tip #1 – Create a Following by Using Target Marketing Strategies. You first need to determine your target market. Is it health conscious people? Entrepreneurs? Stay at home moms? People trying to earn extra money? People with health challenges? Sports-minded people? Real Estate agents? Pet lovers? Do-it-Yourself people? If you’re looking to market a specific product, brand, or niche, you want to find groups or communities in those social media sites in the particular niches that you need to target to get a following and introduce them to your product. You don’t want to waste time trying to market to a crowd that has no interest in what you have to sell.

Tip #2 – Share Value! Once you find your crowd, you want to share valuable information with them on your posts. Don’t necessarily pitch your product all of the time. You want people to find value in the information you share. The best way to do that, hands down, is using a blog and posting links in social media to blog posts that are dripping with value. But you can also post quick and short content or a video in Facebook page or Youtube channel dedicated to your topic or your brand. It won’t be as effective as posting content in a blog, but it’s a start. You want to attract people to what you’re saying so that you’ll have an open and receptive audience to share your product.

Tip #3 – Use Images to Capture Eyeballs. You’ve heard the saying, “a picture is worth a thousand words” and it’s 100% true in marketing. You’ll know that from personal experience. Photos will drive twice as much engagement than text posts do on Facebook or any other social medium. So if you’re looking to attract some new followers, start snapping pics or get good with using online picture tools like online tools like Pixlr, Canva or PicMonkey.to create image content from your own photos, stock photos, or acquired pictures online. The value of pictures in your posts, can’t be underestimated. You can subliminally entice and drive your message without annoying your followers with tons of sales verbiage. Use images to provide followers with some visual inspiration, insight or humor.

Tip #4 –  Share Fun Stuff About Yourself and Be Personable. Show yourself that you’re a regular person, just like your audience. Share photos of your family vacations, events, lifestyle and other fun things. Be personable. If someone asks a question, make sure you answer them. You want to humanize your brand so people don’t feel like they are speaking to a computer but to an actual flesh and blood person who cares about what they are saying. Also don’t ignore negative feedback – addressing the complaint is an opportunity to convert an unhappy customer into an impressed customer.

Tip #5 – Share Success Stories About Yourself and Your Customers! There’s and old saying that says “Facts tell, stories SELL”. Nothing sells better than testimonials. People want to know that others are getting results from what you’re marketing. Also you should highlight some of your customer’s experiences with your product/service. Not only will that make those customers feel honored, but it entices others to purchase or join too.
